Important privacy information:These laptops are provided as course instruments, so you can freely experiment without putting your own data at risk. However, it is possible that your computer is accessed using SSH (to have command line access).
We prefer not to intrude your privacy if you would for example look at your private emails or corporate confidential information on this laptop. If you want to change the password for the student and root user; execute the following commands:
passwd
sudo passwd
In this way, you can set your own password - please don't forget it.
You can also connect to the network with your smartphone and/or laptop on our open WiFi network with essid: Linux

We use completely open wifi and are part of the Open Wireless Movement because we believe the right to communicate should be open and universal for everybody. Be think wifi security is flawed by design and is better implemented at other layers (ssh, https, VPN)
